If there is a myth about watches more prevelent than overwinding I don't know what it is. This video talks through the belief about watches being damaged by winding and we take extreme steps to bust the myth.
The fact is when a watch stops we all give it a wind to see if that's why it's stopped, so very quickly every stopped watch is fully wound. Without opening the case, we may not know why a watch stops, but the one thing we can be sure of is that it is not overwinding
